Meet Dr. Sagar Shah DDS

Meet Dr. Sagar Shah DDS in Los Altos

Dr. Sagar Shah is a general dentist with over a decade of experience in general dentistry and surgical procedures. While he enjoys serving the Los Altos community with his wife, Sheena, he also has spent a significant part of his professional career treating underprivileged and special needs communities.
A southern gentleman (without an accent), Dr. Shah grew up in Nashville, TN, where he worked side by side in a small business with his father. This experience translated into a desire to have a career where he could continue the tradition of serving others and building lasting relationships.
Dr. Shah attended the esteemed Vanderbilt University, where he majored in Biology and Sociology. He then attended NYU College of Dentistry, where he met Dr. Vaswani. Dr. Shah participated in an additional elective year of training at Woodhull Hospital, where he focused on hospital-based dentistry, oral surgery, and more complex care for patients.
Dr. Shah is absolutely passionate about the vast opportunities his profession allows for growth. His strong sense of curiosity and desire to learn has made him a life-long student within the field, continuously furthering his education to better serve patients. He finds the present state of this profession to be very unique, as patient care and possibilities in treatment no longer fit the conventional perception. However, the most exciting and humanizing part of his career is being able to build relationships with the people he encounters.
Dr. Shah has been married to his wonderful and caring wife, Sheena, for nearly a decade. Since moving to the Bay Area to be closer to his wife’s family, he has embraced the novelty of living in a new place. Dr. Shah admits that the two of them discuss teeth at home, which only makes them better at their craft. Outside of work, Dr. Shah is an avid reader, writer, traveler, and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
In 2023, Dr. Sagar Shah traveled to India with Dr. Vaswani to adopt their baby girl, Nilani. Parenthood has allowed Dr. Shah to maintain a better balance in life, and has taught him to not take the world too seriously. His advice is to smile more.
