Sheena Vaswani DDS

Sheena Vaswani, DDS, is an experienced dentist of nearly ten years with a passion for providing personalized and comfortable care. As a native of Los Altos, California, Dr. Vaswani is thrilled to lay down permanent roots at Los Altos Family Smiles, in the community that shaped her.

Through her work at Los Altos Family Smiles, Dr. Vaswani is honored to help her hometown residents achieve healthy and happy smiles.

After years of happy cleanings, orthodontic work, and early removal of wisdom teeth, she graduated from her pediatric dental office to the scary world of adult dentistry. She, unfortunately, learned the hard way that all those blissful years of not flossing with brackets and wires lead to cavities.

With the help of a wonderful and gentle general dentist, she overcame her fear of needles and dental procedures, experiences that played a significant role in shaping her professional life.

Education has always shaped Dr. Vaswani’s path. She began her studies down the street at Oak Elementary, Blach Intermediate, and Mountain View High School before graduating from Harker in 2004. While attending the University of California Berkeley (Go Bears!), she triple-majored in Nutritional Sciences, Art History, and South Asian Studies. 

She then moved to New York City, where she received her professional training from NYU College of Dentistry (and picked up a husband along the way).

While completing an elective general practice residency year at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, she expanded her skill set, learning more about hospital-based dentistry, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, and training in IV sedation and dentistry for patients with special needs and complex medical histories. 

Even today, Dr. Vaswani seeks out additional training in sedation dentistry and works closely with patients who have dental anxiety to ensure that they receive the care they need without undue stress. Dr. Vaswani continues to learn and grow and takes more than 100 hours of continuing education per year.

Dr. Vaswani has experience across many areas of clinical dental practice. 

She’s worked in mobile dental clinics, ensuring that patients in rural areas had access to top quality dental care, providing care for underserved populations in federally qualified health centers, at the department of family and children services, and with patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

Over the last several years, she had the pleasure of seeing patients in Saratoga, where she worked as an associate dentist in a technologically advanced private practice.

Since returning to California, she has been on local adventures checking out outdoor trails, new restaurants, and bars with a mean cocktail.  In her spare time, she enjoys music, traveling, reading, binge-watching shows on Netflix, and spending time with her husband, Sagar.
